Easter is often thought of as a holiday for children, with egg hunts and baskets filled with candy. However, there are plenty of fun activities for adults to enjoy during the Easter season as well. I’m excited to be celebrating with my family this year and I’m hoping my boyfriend will be able to drive over from Pittsburgh! In this blog post, I will explore some great Easter activities that are perfect for adults.
Decorate Easter Eggs
Decorating Easter eggs is a timeless tradition that is enjoyed by people of all ages. There are many ways to decorate Easter eggs, including dyeing, painting, and decoupage. You can even have an Easter egg decorating contest with your friends and family. I’ve actually never decorated Easter eggs because of my brother’s food allergies, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I will have to try this when I move out!
Attend an Easter Brunch
Many restaurants and hotels offer special Easter brunches. This is a great way to enjoy delicious food and spend time with loved ones. Make sure to book early as these brunches tend to fill up quickly. Worst comes to worst, you could always make your own brunch!
If you are attending an Easter brunch, you should check out my post on easy and adorable spring nail designs. This way, your Instagram story will look cute with your mimosa in hand!
Host an Easter Dinner Party
If you prefer to celebrate Easter at home, consider hosting a dinner party. Serve traditional Easter dishes such as ham, scalloped potatoes, and hot cross buns. You can also decorate your home with Easter-themed decor such as pastel-colored tablecloths, spring flowers, and Easter eggs. This is something I’m looking forward to when I get my own place! If the weather is nice, you could always pack a picnic basket and eat outdoors!
When hosting a dinner party, you can’t forget the cocktails! If everyone is 21+, make sure you create a signature colorful drink for the night. You can really get creative with the drink itself or some festive glasses, ice cubes, or straws.
Go on an Easter Egg Hunt
Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you can’t participate in an Easter egg hunt. Many communities host adult Easter egg hunts where participants can search for eggs filled with prizes such as gift cards, cash, and even trips. I used to love when my mom hid Easter eggs full of candy in my house!
An alternative would be to make it a scavenger hunt with clues to find the eggs to make it more challenging. If you want to make a fun date night game, you can fill some with gift cards to local restaurants or movie theaters in addition to the traditional chocolate. The nice thing is, you can totally make an Easter egg hunt your own by not only picking the fills, but you can also choose if it’s outdoors or indoors. Additionally, you can play as individuals or teams. If everyone is over 21, you can also hide some with mini bottles of booze!
Make Easter Crafts
Get creative and make Easter crafts such as wreaths, centerpieces, and Easter baskets. You can find plenty of DIY tutorials online or attend a local crafting workshop. I know I’ll definitely attempt creating an Easter wreath, but I’m no professional crafter.
Watch Easter Movies
Curl up on the couch and watch Easter movies such as “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” or “Hop“. I love watching nostalgic movies, but don’t forget some festive snacks!
Go on a Nature Walk
Enjoy the beauty of nature by taking a leisurely stroll around a park or along a nature trail in the springtime. Going outside in the spring to appreciate the blossoming flowers, sprouting trees, chirping birds, and other indications of new life is a must. After a busy family gathering, it is a fantastic opportunity to get some exercise, relieve tension, and connect with nature. My family loves to go on walks, so we will definitely be doing this on Easter.
Volunteer
Easter is a time for giving back, so consider volunteering at a local soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or food bank. You can also participate in a community Easter egg hunt or help organize an Easter event.
Several Adult Easter Activities
In conclusion, Easter is not just for kids. There are plenty of activities that adults can enjoy during this holiday season. From decorating Easter eggs to attending an Easter brunch, there is something for everyone to enjoy. So, embrace the spirit of Easter and try something new this year! I will be creating new memories by trying to connect more with nature, especially if the weather is nice!
